Ben and I finished that Lego project last night. Brandon was the sort master and made it much easier for us to find the parts we needed quickly.
This morning I had to pick up my car at the shop. The shop we use is Elkhorn Automotive in Waterloo (because it's located along the Elkhorn river). I opted to ride my bike the 16 miles from my house to the shop. It was a very enjoyable ride. Having the right clothes and equipment for cold weather riding makes a world of difference. The light snow during the ride made it all that much more enjoyable. However, I rode State street from 86th to Highway 31. There are a LOT of hills on State Street. I was pooped when I got to waterloo.

Hi Bob: I hope you got the car fixed without having to take out a second mortgage. That was a nice long cold ride you took out to Waterloo this morning. I don't know how you do it. Your sure didn't get your stamia from me.
Love, Mom
State street used to be my go to for tough solo training when I first started. The roads back then in '04 were fairly vacant. Now that so much development has happened out there, it can be dangerous as people drive 50+mph on that road and there's no shoulder. *sigh* Another great road taken away by motorists.
Way to get the lego project back together.
Nice picture of long hauler on the bridge with the snow/icy river below.
Mom - sure I did. Unless I'm adopted ... GASP! ;-)
Munsoned - Luckily I was going west and everyone else was going east. I was tempted to continue onto the gravel at Highway 31 where State street looses it's pavement, but opted for 31 then Maple out to Waterloo.
Brady - Thanks and Thanks. I thought it was a good picture too.
state street = dangerous. I don't even like driving on State. No way I'd ride it on a weekday.
i love your long haul trucker!
any touring plans?
I'd like to tour some eventually. But for now I'll stick to credit card touring or just long one day rides. Then there is this upcoming event: Spring Crank and Camp
