955 miles and counting

Looks like I've racked up 955 miles of bike commuting, to work, in the last 14 weeks. I've also put more than 3,000 miles on my commuter bike since last October along with several hundred miles on my mountain bike. I've put more miles in on my bike than I have in my car.

By my calculations, I've saved over 33 gallons of gas (based on driving commute distance and not my longer biking commute distance). At $3 a gallon that's about $100. Too bad I've spent WAY more than that on bike stuff. But hey, I'm a lot healthier and I've had a great time racking up those miles.

Some of my favorite bike moments of the last year:
  • Completing BRAN
  • Competing in the local MTB race series
  • Riding the Bike Masters Spring Century (100+ mile) ride
  • Biking over the Continental Divide on Trail Ridge Road
  • Commuting to work over 50 times so far this year
  • Riding in the Corporate Cycling challenge (on a single speed road bike)
  • Riding with the Bike Master club team on Saturdays
  • Seeing more sunrises this year than any other year (by a large margin)
