Ponca'ed out

Today was the State MTB Championship at Ponca State Park. The course was amazing. The hills were a big challenge for those of us riding with only one gear, but the trails were awesome. Ponca has lots of climbing, flowing, fast descents, and technical turns. Almost the entire course has tree cover.

My race went pretty well. I made one wrong turn at the start and lost about a minute getting turned around and back onto the correct route. After that it was just a joy (except when I wanted to puke climbing some of the hills). Seriously, it was a very fun course to ride. I lost my legs a bit by lap 3 and had to jog or walk the more difficult climbs, but that's because I'm out of practice climbing on a single speed.

Keli was feeling under the weather, so I took the boys with me, and let Keli stay home and rest (instead she cleaned all day). The Grady family was nice enough to keep an eye on B&B while I raced. B&B had a great time and I think they were just as worn out as I was on the way home.

Saw this on the way home
