Estes Vacation: Round 2

So far the trip has been a lot of fun. Today I was able to do a bike ride from Estes to Grand Lake. I opted to not do the return trip since I was already pretty spent when I got to Grand Lake. I met up with my family in Grand Lake for some food and shopping, then we headed back over the continental divide to Estes Park. Nothing like 53 miles and over a mile of climbing to wear you out. I was very glad to have scheduled my ride for a day when my family would be in Grand Lake (just in case). I was lucky I rode back with them too. It rained all the way back and the fog above tree line (also known as clouds) was dense. It would have been a very long, miserable, cold, and dangerous ride back in those conditions.

The plan for tomorrow is to go swimming here at the campsite in the morning, then head back to the Rock Mountain National Park to do some hiking near Bear Lake. Then back to the campsite to celebrate Rod's birthday.

Saturday will be the end of our vacation. We will head for home early in the morning and probably spend the entire day driving. :-(
