Estes Vacation: Round 1

Well, we made it to Estes ok. Everyone is having a great time. Roger got a flat tire on his camper right as we pulled into the campsite. Talk about good timing. Yesterday we all drove up Old Fall River Road to the Alpine visitors center on Trail Ridge Road. Old Fall River Road is gravel and pretty steep. Lynda did great considering her lack of fondness for heights. All create a web album of the trip when we get back. So watch for that to sell all the cool pictures we have been taking.

I've made a couple bike rides while I've been here but tomorrow will be the first one above 9000 feet. Below is a couple pictures I took on the first two rides. Click a picture to see a larger version.

Sounds like you are having a great time in Colorado! Wish I were enjoying the mountains rather than the 90+ degree flatland temps!

It's been a lot of fun. I got to ride from Estest to Grand Lake on today. I opted to not do the return trip since I was already pretty spent when I got to Grand Lake. Nothing like 53 miles and over a mile of climbing to wear ya out.

Great scenery! Biking really is a great way to see the country, though rain, snow, etc., makes one glad they have the option of a car.
