Today I decided to do a long evening ride at the last minute. I tried to put together a group ride, but sending emails at 3:30 to coordinate a ride starting at 5:30 isn't all that affective. I did find one person to ride with though. Ryan, who is getting married to Roxy in just a few short weeks, was able to join me for an evening of cool temps, easy spinning, a tall glass of beer, and some great scenery. We spotted about 6 deer along the trail as well.
We rode from 60th and center over to Levenworth, then down to the Pedestrian bridge and over to Iowa. We then rode out to Lake Manawa to check trail conditions for the race this weekend (looks good so far) and then back to the bridge. After crossing the bridge, Ryan headed for home and I headed north to N.P. Dodge park and then West on Highway 36 to head for home. Along the way I chased a racoon up a tree, scared a black cat, and spotted many more deer along Highway 36. I have no computer on my bike right now, so I have no idea how far we rode. Far enough, but not too far, I guess.
Thanks Ryan, I had a great time.

Sounds like fun. I toyed with the idea of joining you, but I had some stuff going on at home.
I think it's good to have a large number of local cyclists all following each other on Twitter. It could make these impromptu rides like this a possibility.
I wanted to forward your request out through @OmahaCyclist, but I didn't get a chance.
Looks like you had a good time.
Yup... I had a great time. I wasn't expecting much of a group because of the late planning on my part.
Maybe next time I'll give you a bit more notice. ;-)
