OK, so I'm a man of many words, just not on my blog.
Summer is going by quickly, and I'm just not stopping in at the blog very often because I'm spending time elsewhere. You'll probably notice me blogging a bit more this winter when I have more time cooped up indoors.
So what have I been up to? The pictures below will show you that I took two major vacations this summer. Both were a lot of fun, and it took a bit of adjusting to get back into the swing of office work after I returned.
Keli and I have also been spending some time lately playing some board games. We purchased Ticket to Ride last week and we loved it. B&B liked it as well, but we had to help them a bit to understand how to get from point A to point B on the game board. We are also trying out the game Dominion. The first time we played I thought I had Keli whooped. When the game was over and we counted points, she had beaten me by several points. Tonight I get my rematch. NO MERCY! YAAARG!
It was nice to finally get back into a routine this week. The last 2 months have been anything BUT routine.
Maybe tomorrow I'll get out on the bike for a bit in the morning.
Keli Status: Keli is getting things organized for school starting up in just over 2 weeks. She is also working hard to defeat me at every game we play...and I thought I was the competative one.
Ben Status: Ben is building lego creations like crazy. I'm surprised I don't have Legos permanently embedded in my feet.
Brandon Status: Brandon is "not so patiently" waiting for his Lego "Bones" character to show up in the mail. He is also missing his two front teeth (which he lost on vacation).
Bob Status: I'm currently playing Lord of the Rings Online with some friends from church about 2-3 hours a week. I even built new budget gaming PC so I could play it with all the pretty graphics turned up. I seem to be focused on board gaming right now. I suppose that's part of my endless quest for the next hobby.
Family Status: We are back to family night on Mondays. Keli and I spend that night playing games and such with the kids. It's pretty much dedicated to doing what THEY want to do instead of what Keli and I want them to do. They really look forward to it when we are doing it consistently. Recently, each night at bed time, Keli has been reading 1 chapter of "Indian in the Cupboard" to us. I've never read it and I'm enjoying it. The boys are loving it. We all get on our bed and keli reads. B&B have claimed their "reading spots" so we have to lay in the same place each night. It's a lot of fun, and a good way to get them settled down before bed, and we are all there together, which is also nice. Brandon should be focused on indian games and costumes for the next several months as a result.
Check back between tomorrow and December for my next blog post. Hey...that's just how I roll. ;-)
