Crank-n-camp (sans camping)

With the weather looking like rain, and only two of us riding all the way to Blanchard, MO, we decided to skip the camping part. It was a great ride and Phil and I made it all the way to the MO border on the Wabash.

To start the ride off I met up with Mike Munson, then Scott and Roxanne, then Rafal and Phil met us at the Wabash trail head. Mike, Scott, and Roxanne pealed off after about 1 or 2 miles on the Wabash. Rafal turned around at Margarita-ville when a small rain squall blew across the trail.

Phil and I put on our rain jackets and pedaled on. We had lunch in Shenandoah then continued on to Blanchard. I stopped in Blanchard to cool off by running some water over my head. That's when Phil said "Bob...BOB!...Dog...BIG dog! And it's coming our way!". Luckily the dog was all bark, because Phil probably hit 40mph on the way out of town, and I was left in his dust hoping the dog wasn't very hungry.

We returned to Shenandoah for dinner, and Keli came to our rescue to give us a lift home.

Good times!

Hi Bob:

Looks like you had a great time. I know Roxanne and I had fun on our abbreviated 42 miler.

Those pics look great. It's cool you were able to get such a good result on the group picture considering you weren't using any kind of special rig to hold the camera in position. Do you mind if I snag that picture for posting elsewhere?

I'm looking forward to the next fun ride.

Thanks. That little canon point and shoot does a pretty good job most of the time. Your more than welcome to use those pictures elsewhere.

Now I need to get back on my bike. I've been stuck in a car all week. Yuck!
