While at work, I got an email from a friend about a bike being sold by another friend (hmm...I guess I do have friends). A bike that is much more valuable and better suited to the type of riding I plan to do than the Colnago I purchased recently. A few quick calls, a couple emails, and a few nervous moments and I had agreed to purchase said bike. After riding home on Thursday night I drove over to pick up my new steed. I even brought B&B with me. The first thing they said when I told them where we were going was, "Dad, why do you have so many bikes? Mom doesn't have that many bikes." Darn those curious kids. I went with the "I ride my bikes more than mom does" excuse. Luckily, that was enough for them.
As you can see, I took this picture of the Bianchi Roger sitting in my office at work. Why was it sitting in my office? Well, after getting the bike home on Thursday, I decided to ride it to work on Friday. Unfortunately, the weather got bad Friday afternoon, and I decided not to take a chance on riding with traffic on the way home during a snow storm. So the Roger was placed in my office before I hitched a ride home with another friend (wow... more friends than I had expected) Friday night.
The Roger sat in my office all weekend, but I still managed to get out and ride on Sunday with yet another friend (what can I say...I'm blessed). I rode the Surly for this adventure. We rode about 25 miles total with a 14'ish mph average. We even stopped for 45 minutes or so at Crane Coffee to warm up and relax a bit.
Anyways, hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
Now dust off that bike and get out and ride.
