The last time I went ice skating I didn't even get one full lap around the ice before I thought I was having an appendicitis. Turns out I had kidney stones, 3 of them. I got off the ice as fast as possible and my wonderful mother-in-law and wife rushed me to the emergency room, while my father-in-law and his mom took our kids home. I spent about 2-3 hours in the ER and about 3 days after that sampling some of the best pain medication that modern medicine has to offer. I'm not sure what was worse: the pain from the stones, or the nausea from the pain medication. What a lovely weekend that was.
